Academy Award™ nominee (Rain Man, 1989) Ida Random is Scotland-born, Canada and US-trained artist and a member of the Hollywood film and artist community for over 40 years.
Working with famed directors like Danny DeVito and Brian de Palma in award-winning films like The Big Chill, The War of the Roses, Along Came A Spider and Silverado.
Ida was awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award by the Art Directors Guild in Hollywood, CA in March 2022.
Artist
Ida has been painting since her teenage years. Through the years, and while building a successful film industry career, Ida had a continual drive to paint. When designing a film she says, "we are making a painting."
As of today, she has created over 100 paintings, including her best-selling “bowls”, the beautiful “deities” collection and a film-inspired collection.
